Hotel Kyriaki

We were well looked after by the staff, and it was a quiet, pleasant stay. The owner was genuine, very friendly, and accommodating. Our room was clean and nice, with a large balcony, and it was serviced daily. The beds were really comfortable, the air conditioning worked well, and the refrigerator worked very well too, which we haven't often found. There's a decent sized pool and a bar, though we chose the beach instead. We felt the price was fair for what we got.

We loved the beaches nearby, probably the best ones we found near Chania, and there are several good taverns around too. The family run Kyriaki hotel has a big, well kept garden, a pool with plenty of sunbeds, and comfortable beds. Our room was cleaned every day. We didn't use the WiFi much, and although other reviews mention AC problems, we didn't have one, though we hardly used it. The hosts were warm and genuine. The main host is charismatic and easy to talk to, and helped with everything we asked. The bartender was just as kind. It felt like Greek hospitality, like chatting with distant relatives. We skipped the restaurant food but really enjoyed the drinks at the bar. By car, Chania is about 10 minutes away, 15 by bus, or a 35 minute walk. We walked each time because we liked the waterfront route. Bring a charged phone for its flashlight or a headlamp for the walk back. The bus stop is also close, about a five minute walk.

We had a great time at this quiet, family run hotel. The rooms were comfortable, clean, and had a fridge. The pool area was lovely, though the jacuzzi pool wasn't working during our stay. The staff were friendly, helpful, and very accommodating. I'd recommend it.

The grounds are surrounded by olive trees, bougainvillea, and other lovely Cretan plants. Breakfast and snacks are served in a covered, open sided seating area. The pool complex is beautiful, with a separate shallow pool for kids and a jacuzzi pool higher up, where you can glimpse the White Mountains. The main pool ranges from 1.3 m to 2.3 m deep. It's a super family run hotel with lovely owners and staff, just a five minute walk from the sea and next to Sterna, the best restaurant in Chania.
