Hotel Paloma Blanca

Getting to the beach can be a bit awkward, especially with little kids or older people. It's about a 10-minute walk to Dassia beach, but part of the route follows a narrow two-way road, and crossing the main road halfway felt like an adventure with cars coming quickly. The last part isn't especially pleasant either, with some run-down properties and bits of garbage. For groceries or water, a car helps because you have to carry everything uphill from a supermarket about 600 metres away. You can manage without one if you're fit or traveling as a couple or alone. The hotel itself was a great stay. It's tucked up a hill away from the main road in a quiet area of private properties. Rooms with sea and mountain balconies have spectacular views, and they're very clean with daily housekeeping. Parking is plentiful, though not always enough, so sometimes we had to leave the car on the quiet street. We enjoyed the pool restaurant, open until 11 pm, and the food was great. The pool is huge, maybe 50 metres, and very clean and well maintained. Breakfast was varied and good, with homemade desserts, and not like a standard North American continental breakfast. The staff were friendly, relaxed, helpful and accommodating. We'd love to return.
