The price felt very reasonable compared with the other places we came across, and the room was exactly as described, spotless and right by the sea. We’d been calling around for a four-day stay in Kythira, and our instincts led us here. From the first phone call, the woman’s kind, grandmotherly voice made us feel we could trust her. When she heard we had no car, she offered to collect us at the port, which meant a lot. Manti (from Adamantia) and her husband, Yiannis, are genuine, friendly people. They take pride in improving the accommodation over time and don’t seem focused only on your wallet. People like them deserve to do well. For peace, cleanliness, and hospitality without the tourist excess, Daeira Apartments in Diakofti is a great choice.

Diakofti has what we found to be the most beautiful beach, and the location also keeps you just three minutes from the port. Arriving by boat means you can skip the road traffic toward the island’s interior. We stayed five nights this August. Our room was spacious and very clean, and so was the bathroom. The woman who welcomed us was kind and very helpful. I highly recommend the place.

The beach is lovely and just a 4-5 minute walk away. We felt at home here, with very clean rooms and hosts who were happy to help. Five stars for the room, the hosts, and the location.

There’s a mini market next door for the basics, and the spot is quiet while still being close to Avlemonas. The port is nearby too, and the view is nice. Our hosts were friendly but discreet. The rooms were cleaned every day, which I’d say is a rare and really welcome touch.

The staff were very kind and the room was clean. The mattresses should suit anyone who likes a very firm bed. I did find the windows frustrating: one had no screen and stayed shut, and the others were blocked when the air conditioning was on. Since the electricity runs on a card, you couldn’t leave a window open for fresh air while using the A/C.
