Nefeles Guesthouse

We stayed one night while visiting Delphi, and the price was great for what we got. The guesthouse managers, a couple, were courteous and helpful. When we asked for hot water for tea, they brought cups, spoons, sugar, and cookies. Our room was clean and large, and the bathrooms were clean too. There's a roomy lobby to hang out in, a nice porch outside, and plenty of parking. Breakfast was good, made in their kitchen. Downtown is a five-minute drive, or about a 20-minute walk. The road to the guesthouse could be better, though. At night it may be hard to navigate, especially for Americans. :-) Highly recommend.

The owners even lent me books about the area's history and recommended places to eat and sights to see. They also let me use the kitchen for snacks, and got almond milk for me when I mentioned I'm lactose intolerant. The home-cooked breakfast was scrumptious, with Greek pastries, sweet pies, and fresh eggs from the backyard chickens. This family-run business clearly puts heart and soul into making guests feel at home. The premises were impeccably clean and furnished in a traditional Greek cottage style, and the balconies had dreamy views. I'd give Nefeles a 10 out of 5 if I could. Don't think twice about booking!

We haven't stayed at this hotel. We're two travelers with disabilities, though neither of us uses a wheelchair. We emailed to ask about possible barriers in the house, then sent an SMS after 24 hours asking again for a reply. After 36 hours, there was still no response. It makes it seem as though disabled travelers aren't welcome here.

This small hotel just outside town offers homemade breakfast, a nice change from the usual hotel buffet. The staff are very friendly, and hostess Helena will even take you into town if you don't feel like walking. Staying here feels like being part of a Greek family, a great experience.
