Myrtos Cottages Kefalonia

We stayed six nights and the apartment was very clean; the towels were changed once. The hosts were friendly and helpful, and there was free parking in the garden of the house. Polinesia had plenty of room, with a sofa in the bedroom and another in the kitchen and hall. The bed was comfortable, the kitchen was well equipped, and the terrace looked onto the garden, with the sea visible in the distance. Two taverns and a grocery store are very close.

The main issue for us over nine nights was the lack of room service. Our towels and sheets were changed only once, and a bag of clean sheets was left at the door. We were fine taking out the rubbish ourselves, but no bin liner was provided; when we asked, we got a very small bag meant for fruit from the market. We also had to buy our own toilet paper. These things matter more on a longer stay, especially with kids. The flat itself was spacious, with a separate air-conditioned bedroom and a nice terrace overlooking Myrtos. Good restaurants and grocery shops are under five minutes away on foot, and Myrtos Beach is three minutes by car, with other regional beaches easy to reach.

Lydia was friendly and very accommodating. We had a quiet, comfortable stay in a large apartment with a separate bedroom, full kitchen, and balcony. Free parking was included. A wonderful place.

The apartment was clean and well cared for, with useful things like a washing machine, and the hosts were super nice. It’s a good base for exploring the island and its beaches. I’d especially suggest Agia Effimia, a charming little town where you can rent a boat and explore on your own, and Paralia Petani, an extensive, gorgeous beach.
