Anezina Hotel

We spent a week at Anezina Hotel & Village in October and had a great time, especially at the Greek night and cooking class. Breakfast was delicious and unhurried, and on warmer mornings we loved eating outdoors. Everyone on staff was friendly and helpful, and made us feel at home. The rooms are simple, with comfortable beds. The location worked really well, close to a market, coffee shop, local bus stop, and beaches. I’d happily recommend Anezina Village.

We made six different dishes in three hours during the group cooking class with Maria and the crew, and it was easily the best thing we did in Paros. The staff were so much fun and kind. Even if you’re shy, they make you feel at home, like you’re in the kitchen with family. There was so much laughing, and we made memories I won’t forget. Classes often sell out, so if you can, email about 2-4 weeks ahead to get a spot.

The recipes Maria sent us afterward were such a generous extra. She shared a whole collection, with far more than we’d made that night, and it felt like taking home a little piece of her kitchen. My mom and I still talk about the evening as one of our favorite memories from Greece. It was a lovely way to end the night, dancing a traditional Greek dance under the stars. Earlier, we’d cooked everything by hand in Maria’s gorgeous outdoor kitchen, with her teaching through stories about culture, technique, and the food itself. The sweet aprons and other little touches made it feel special, and the generous wine didn’t hurt. We felt comfortable right away, as though we’d walked into a friend’s home instead of a class. The food was delicious, but the warm, joyful atmosphere is what stayed with us. We laughed so much with the other guests that they felt like old friends by the end. If you’re considering booking, do it. It was personal, soulful, and one of the most special parts of our trip. My mom and I both recommend it.

A rental car would make it easier to get around and explore more of Paros. The village sits at the island’s southern end, and Maria and her family take great care of guests. I loved the kind, genuine hospitality, the authentic Greek cooking class, and the pool and restaurant. My guestroom was comfortable, too.
