There’s a market with fair prices and a good selection, and shared fridge space seems sufficient for everyone. They even have two freezers. The facilities, including the tent pitches, are well laid out, and the lavatory stays clean and tidy all day. A perfect spot for a memorable holiday.

The beach is fabulous, and it’s easy to cycle around the whole island. It’s a large site, mostly tent pitches with timber roofs for shade. There’s just enough room for a van about the size of a VW Transporter. Motorhomes go in two big gravel areas off to one side, away from the toilets and other facilities.

The beach is beautiful, and the campsite is pleasant, clean and well organised, with both shaded and sunny pitches. But we were here as a family of three and there were lots of students and young people partying every night. Some nights the noise went on until 4-5am. We told reception, but nothing changed. It got boring being so organised, and the late parties are why I wouldn’t recommend it. Family camping and parties don’t go together. This is the island’s only campsite, so there weren’t really other options. If there had been, we’d have left straight away.

The beach is amazing, but the campervan pitches make no sense. During a wind storm, the infrastructure came down in a dangerous way. The owner should stop taking campervans until the site is actually prepared for them.
