Nalas Suites

I stayed for two nights in October 2023. I’d booked a MASTIO, but was upgraded to VIGILA, which felt very private, almost like a separate building. I’d chosen a cave style place to try the experience, and I’m glad I did. It was clean and well kept, and relaxing in my private rooftop Jacuzzi in the evening while looking at the night view helped me sleep well. Emporio, where Nalas is, really impressed me too. Wandering the car-free old town was fun. Old Barber Shop is a Greek home-style restaurant just a three-minute walk away, and I enjoyed trying Greek soul food there. Chris was very kind and helped me with things like booking an electric bicycle. Thanks to him, the trip was comfortable and enjoyable. I’d love to visit again.

We booked the cave suite through Airbnb. It’s a one-of-a-kind cave-like space, with a relaxing Jacuzzi and a responsive, helpful host. A peaceful place to unwind after exploring the island, and a good way to get away from Santorini’s tourist crowds.

Emporio is a medieval castle village that has stayed untouched by tourism development compared with the rest of the island. Cars can’t enter, but there are parking areas a five to ten minute walk from Nalas suites. We had three amazing nights in the Mastio suite and loved every minute. The room was so clean and cozy it felt like we were the first guests. The kitchen was fully equipped, including an espresso machine. Bathroom facilities were excellent, the outdoor jacuzzi was always clean, and the COCO-MAT bed was comfortable. We also used the smart TV to watch Netflix before bed, and there was even a lantern with candles that made the night feel special. Manthos, the manager, was a cool, friendly guy who treated us like friends and gave us useful tips for spending our time and money like locals. One friendly tip from us: after sunset, take your preferred bottle of wine, the glasses are in the kitchen, and relax in the jacuzzi under the Aegean sky. You won’t regret it!

The area and location made for a quiet holiday with a real Greek feel, and the staff were so friendly that we felt welcome throughout. Renting a car through them was a smart move too. Best decision ever.
