George, the innkeeper, was delightful and knew the area well. He was also great to talk to. The room was affordable, clean, and beautiful. ETHRION will be my first choice when I book a hotel on Syros next time.

The people were friendly, but in Greece that often lasts until you've paid. The location is the main reason I'd recommend this place, though there are plenty of other options to explore. We stayed five nights, and the rooms were smaller than they looked in the photos. It felt very expensive for what was offered. Around 100€ a night, I think you could find better value elsewhere, perhaps with breakfast included. Cleanliness needs more attention. The coffee maker was full of dirt, and so were the spoons, so we couldn't use them. The fridge was very dirty too. I'm surprised, since the other accommodation reviews are positive.

The owner, Georges, was a nice man who helped us with a few things. His son Dimitri and Heleni, who helps them, were also kind. Our stay was calm and acceptable, and in the end it wasn't that bad. My family and I chose the beautiful, unusual little island of Syros for our summer vacation. The people there were kind and always helpful. After doing some research, I booked Ethrion Hotel for nine days. I do have a few concerns to mention. The studios we stayed in seemed separate from the hotel, with their own entrance doors. Some of the booking photos didn't match what we found, especially the bathrooms, which badly need renovation, particularly the old plumbing fixtures. They also need insect treatment because there were ants everywhere. Housekeeping was okay for the first couple of days, but then it became awful. Our towels weren't changed and the beds weren't made. The property was clean and well maintained, with a partial view of the harbour. The host was friendly and helpful. We had to climb some stairs to get up, though later the host told us there was another way without stairs. The room and toilet had slightly odd shapes, but that didn't bother us.
