Maria, the owner, was so kind and helpful, and shared great local tips. She made us feel at home. We loved unwinding in the terrace jacuzzi in the evenings, with a partial view of the sea. The apartment was spotless, nicely decorated, and had everything we needed. Both bedrooms were comfortable. Akti Homes is in a great spot in Matala, an easy walk to the beach, shops, and restaurants, while still quiet enough to relax. We’d gladly return and recommend it to anyone visiting Matala.

The host responded quickly and did their best to help, which is why I’ve given two stars. Still, I wouldn’t recommend staying here. The apartment felt neglected, with hygiene problems that made us uncomfortable, and the photos were clearly outdated, so the good reviews left us with the wrong impression. Noise every evening made it hard to relax, and for several days there was little or no hot water. The stay was quite disappointing.

The apartment had everything we needed, including a small kitchen and jacuzzi. The location is good if you're without kids, though the bar just behind it can get noisy at night. There’s also nowhere to park nearby.

BE AWARE! We arrived to find that owner Maria Kiralaki had put us in a different home from the one shown on the website. When I pointed out the photos, she said they have three homes but only kept pictures up of the first one. I could see why. She added that if I didn't like it, I could leave. Before we arrived, communication was poor. There was no parking, nobody helped with our suitcases, and the home hadn't been checked or cleaned. Maria noticed things were missing while showing us around. It felt like a scam.
