House of sunset 2 Sivas

House of Sunset is a great base for exploring this part of Crete. Sandy beaches are a short drive away, and there are several gorge walks for anyone wanting more adventure. We’d absolutely return. This was our second visit to Sivas, a quiet, lovely village where old Crete and modern buildings sit side by side. A five-minute stroll from House of Sunset gets you to mini-markets and several restaurants. Matala is about 8 km away. We’re always drawn to the town for meals and people-watching, though its nightlife is too bustling for us to stay there. We booked the beautiful apartment on Booking.com for 12 nights in early to mid-May 2022 and highly recommend it to independent travelers. Our flight from Manchester was delayed by two hours, and after collecting our hire car in Heraklion, we didn’t reach Sivas until after midnight. Voula, Apostolis, and their son Adonis gave us an amazing welcome, which we really appreciated. Their kindness and friendliness throughout the stay made an already brilliant, long-awaited holiday even better. The apartment lives up to its name. From the rear, there are incredible sunsets over the sea, while the front view is worth getting up early for at sunrise. Snow still covered the distant mountain tops to the right of the rear balcony, even as the weather where we were was warming up nicely. There are three bedrooms, two shower and toilet rooms, and a huge kitchen, dining, and living area. It has everything you need to cater for yourself.
