We’ve stayed twice in three years, and we’re sure we’ll be back. Eleonas is such a fun, relaxing place for families who like being surrounded by nature. The grounds have older olive groves alongside younger trees, herb gardens, and all kinds of Mediterranean plants. The landscape seems to wrap around both the paths and each cottage. I’ve loved seeing the gardens grow over the past couple of years. The pools were warm enough for a lot of fun at the start of October, and we used the sauna by the new pool while the kids napped. There’s also a short walk to the lake, plus a gorge, hiking, and other outdoor activities, or you can just enjoy the fresh air and quiet. Manolis and his staff are a big part of what makes it special. They always go above and beyond. The food was delicious, fresh, generous, and really high quality. We enjoyed the small portions at dinner now that it’s buffet style, especially the zucchini flowers and stuffed mushrooms. Breakfast had plenty of salads, eggs, fresh bread, fruit, yogurt, and pastries. For our early flight, Manolis put together an amazing breakfast to go for the family: fresh fruit, sandwiches, yogurt, honey, pastries, cake, and cheeses. Other places have prepared breakfast for us before, but nothing like this.

The cottages were peaceful, private, and comfortable, and the staff were all so friendly and accommodating. We ate incredibly good, authentic food every day. It’s a great base for hiking and exploring central and south Crete, where you get a real feel for the island. I’d happily recommend the place and would certainly return.

The cabins are charming, the mountain view from the beautiful pool is a treat, and the food is really good. Everyone who works here was so kind and welcoming. We had a magical stay, and loved hiking the Rouvas Gorge. A wonderful place, highly recommend.

Manolis was fantastic, always happy to share useful ideas for hikes and things to do. He also let us try his homemade olive oil and told us about it. We spent a wonderful week as a small family in a cozy cottage with our own heated pool. The staff were kind and helpful, and the food was delicious. It was an amazing break, and Eleonas Country Village is a lovely choice if you want to relax and enjoy nature.

We loved the calm mountain setting and the gorgeous pools, and the restaurant was incredible. Every detail at Eleonas Country Village felt cared for, with so much love put into the place. The staff were welcoming and wonderful. One of the best holiday spots I’ve ever visited, and I wholeheartedly recommend it.
