The staff made this stay stand out. Everyone was warm and helpful, and their local tips made us feel more like welcome guests than tourists. We mainly ate at IDI Restaurant & Fish Farm, where the food was consistently excellent. The breakfast buffet also had a generous selection of tasty organic and local Greek products. Our newly renovated room was quiet, spacious and comfortable, with elegant furnishings and eco-friendly amenities. The modern design fits beautifully with the surrounding nature, and the balcony view of the Psiloritis mountains was a real highlight. IDI Hotel was a spectacular place to stay, whether you’re looking for a peaceful break or island hopping. We can’t wait to return!

The pool was a highlight for me: clean, uncrowded, and set among beautiful views. It was a lovely place to relax after exploring. The hotel sits in a quiet natural area, and my room was clean, comfortable and had what I needed. Staff were friendly and ready to help throughout my pleasant stay.

We spent five nights at IDI hotel in July 2025. The location and views were excellent, and the staff were especially friendly and kind. My room was spacious and clean, and the shower was the best part for me, it really helped wash away the day's tiredness. It's a laid-back place to recharge. I’d strongly recommend IDI hotel to anyone wanting to explore the mountains and south of Crete.

The garden is lovely, and the modern rooms are quiet. A great place to unwind, with the lake and gorge nearby if you’re keen to hike. Be sure to try the restaurant too, the food is really tasty.

Stavros is a charming, authentic village with some nice tavernas, and Matala is the nearest beach, about 25 minutes away by car. You’ll need a car, since the hotel is up in the green hills and I didn’t see any nearby bus service. The hotel is small, clean and very good, with recently restored rooms and excellent service. There’s a nice breakfast, a very good taverna next door, and a decent-sized pool with plenty of loungers in shaded spots under trees or a sun roof. It feels comparable to a four-star hotel, with the benefit of being on a smaller scale.
