The beach has clear water and natural shade, with some umbrellas as well. It’s family friendly, and there are rooms to let up the hill. The tavern can cover all your needs, and the whole place feels peaceful and is a great spot to visit.

My wife and I stayed for ten days in Aug. 2023. The place is a great choice for quiet family holidays or simply chilling out for a few days without spending much. The value for money is outstanding, and it’s a family run business. Our room was large, with a private balcony and a great ocean view. There’s a salt water pool with a shallow section for kids, and a virtually private beach about 100 meters from our balcony. The on-site restaurant has a wide open ocean view, very very good prices, and good food. The staff were friendly and quick to respond when we asked for things. We did notice a few small things that could be improved, but the outstanding value made them easy to forgive. I don’t usually return to places, but I’d like to come back sometime.

This was much cheaper than anywhere else we stayed in Crete, and the rooms we were shown were fantastic and super clean. It’s a charming family run hotel and taverna near Agiofarago Beach, with some more up-scale accommodation down the hill from check-in and the taverna. It feels more like a farm B&B: sheep graze a nice distance from the rooms, and a greenhouse supplies the kitchen. The lamb we ate came from the farm, and they let us buy sweet peppers for our picnic lunches. The taverna has a lovely outdoor setting overlooking the ocean. Highly recommended! It’s away from the main tourist tracks, and the roads there are poorer than average for Crete, but our dinky rental car got us there without trouble. They said you can drive down to the beach, though I’d walk, but we never made it there. There are some run-down buildings on the property, too.

We ate at the restaurant every day because the prices were fair and the local food was so good, often with a special dish of the day. It’s a family-run place, and I believe the grandmother makes the dishes, which have a tasty, home-cooked quality. The hotel is beautifully isolated, with a cozy restaurant, and the views from both the rooms and dining area are breathtaking. Everyone in the family was warm and kind, which added to the charm.
