We came looking for a quiet getaway and found just that on Crete’s beautiful, peaceful west coast. Andreas was a fantastic host, and we enjoyed every moment, from the lovely rooms to breakfast with its breathtaking view. There are several taverns and cantinas close by, some within walking distance. I’d suggest coming by car so you can explore the area and Falassarna beach.

Andreas, Lea and their super daughters were so kind and friendly. When we needed to leave early one morning, they prepared a takeaway breakfast for us, and it was superb. Breakfasts are delicious, made with fresh produce, sometimes fruit straight from their trees. Our room was big and clean, and you get the best sunset here. We can only give this a 10/10 because there’s no higher score. Big thanks to the super “nonna” chef for the delicious homemade dolmadakias gift.

We chose this for our honeymoon and had the most fantastic stay I’ve ever experienced. Andreas, the owner, was very kind and looked after us so well. It’s a great base for visiting Falassarna and Balos. Breakfast was delicious, especially the homemade kumquat marmalade from Andreas’ mother. It’s the best marmalade I’ve ever had. 10/10, and I’d highly recommend Elia Hotel.

We came away feeling completely relaxed and would definitely recommend a stay here. The views, amenities and breakfast were all excellent. You can watch the sunset from bed, then make an easy evening of it with pizza from the local bakery at the top of the hill and a bottle of rosé. Five stars!
