Blue Sea Beach Resort

The food was the big letdown. It seemed low quality, with ingredients thrown together, and we struggled to make a proper meal. We lived on gyros, chips, and breakfast pizza for the week. I’ve eaten much better elsewhere. If the hotel improved the food, it could be really good. Our room was spacious and nice, but my sea-view room looked onto another hotel block, the one that actually had the sea view. That was disappointing, especially as family members had the room next to me for free. The pools were freezing, though perhaps that’s normal in October. Some of the entertainment was good, some less so. The location is the real strength: a peaceful end of faliraki, with easy bus access to the old town. The beachfront is lovely, with plenty of beds, soft sand, and shallow water for a while. I also loved the spa. It was my first time having a back massage, and the atmosphere was very relaxing. The steam room gets intense, so don’t stay in too long.

The beach and pools were lovely, and the hotel itself was modern and very clean. Staff were friendly and accommodating. The rooms were clean and pleasant too, although the beds were uncomfortable, and having two singles instead of a double wasn’t ideal. Meals were the main problem. There weren’t enough food or staff for the number of guests, so there were ridiculous queues at every meal, all day.

The food and drinks were just okay, but the room was a much bigger problem. It was small, the ashtray hadn’t been cleaned, and both the fridge and air conditioning didn’t work. I had to call to get an electric fan. Since they already knew the AC situation, the fan should have been there when I arrived. They said the website mentioned that there was no air conditioning, but I booked through jet2 and don’t read their site. I should have been emailed that there’d be no AC for the whole stay. There were no cups either, just one sachet of Lipton ice rea. Avoid this place.

Everything was great, and there was loads of food inside and outside. The weather was lovely, though almost too hot. The hotel is close to the beach, a local market, and rhode, and there’s a place to rent a car nearby. We’ve just finished our holiday and can’t complain, especially about the food. One request for dear Blue Sea Beach Resort: could the entertainment go on a little longer?
