Hercules Plus Faliraki

The breakfast was a letdown, so we only tried it once. The bread was excellent, but the fruit and vegetables seemed left over from the day before, the ham smelled like it had been in the fridge, the eggs were soaked in oil, and the juice was diluted. There wasn't even a toaster. Our room didn't match the photos on booking.com. Maybe some rooms have been renovated, but it seemed possible those go to guests arriving through travel agencies. Ours was old, dusty, a little dirty, and the closet was falling apart. The bathroom was very old too, with no hand soap, shower gel, or anything like that. We had to ask for towels, and unless you tell them beforehand that you want the room cleaned, it won't be touched. We didn't have a good stay and wouldn't recommend it. There are much nicer places nearby for similar or even lower prices.

The beach was only a five minute walk away, which was where we spent most of our week. The room was on the old side but worked fine, and the air conditioning was useful in the heat. Wi-Fi held up everywhere we tried it, including the pool and taverna. We slept well in the standard room, so we passed on the offered deluxe upgrade. The beds felt a little hard, though not uncomfortable. The hotel was cleaned daily, and our room was looked after each day too. Towels were changed every three days, or daily for a fee. Breakfast was solid, with plenty to choose from for different diets, and the taverna served good, affordable Greek food. For a two-star place, it did what we needed to keep the stay comfortable and relaxed. Maria was flexible, and when we communicated something, it was handled right away. I've seen some harsh reviews, but clear communication matters. We were there for a week, and I'd recommend staying here. Hercules Hotel should give you an extra story to tell :-).

Our room hadn't been modernised, but it was clean and had the things we needed: a fridge, safe, balcony, mirror, dressing table, wardrobe, and a shower with strong pressure and hot water. The mattress felt a bit hard, though that's personal preference. We paid €40 extra for air-conditioning for 5 nights, and in the heat it was worth it. The family running Hotel Hercules work hard to make guests happy. The woman at reception was helpful and flexible, and answered our questions honestly. Wi-Fi worked well throughout, from the room and reception to the pool and bar. The beach was a five minute walk, and the supermarket down the road took about two minutes to reach. We could leave our bags at reception after checkout and use their shower room. The hotel taverna served tasty traditional Greek food, and they kindly gave us a complimentary Greek dessert at the end. We had a lovely stay. For a two-star hotel and its price, it gave us what we needed and more. If you want a friendly, affordable, no-frills stay with good service, a great location, and genuine hospitality, I highly recommend Hotel Hercules.

A quiet spot, but still close to the busy area, beaches, and restaurants. The rooms may look different from some of the pictures, but this was still very good value. It's a cute family hotel, with caring, lovely staff. Breakfast was nice, the Wi-Fi was good, and the rooms had proper air-conditioning. The pool area was nice too. There's also a very good restaurant next to the hotel. Would definitely recommend. 🤍
