We’ve just come back from our fourth visit, and love how calm it feels here. The apartments sit in a lovely, well-kept garden with fragrant jasmine, palm, and fruit trees. They’re near both town and beach, yet wonderfully quiet and relaxing. Even with every apartment full, it never feels busy. The pool is a good size and never crowded; it closes during siesta, which won’t suit everyone, but helps keep the place like a calm oasis. There’s also easy-to-reach parking with plenty of room. Dimitra speaks fluent English and is a superb host. She checks in regularly to see if we’re enjoying ourselves or need anything, and we really appreciate the small, generous acts of kindness she gives her time to. It feels like Greek hospitality. The apartments are spotless and well equipped for self-catering, and efficient air conditioning is included at no extra cost. We wouldn’t hesitate to return year after year.

We first came here in June 2023, and we’ve now stayed twice, despite usually never returning to the same place. After 40 years of independent trips to Greece, that says plenty. Dimitra and George were excellent hosts, friendly and full of useful suggestions for places to visit. Our spacious room felt like home, with loads of wardrobe space, a big comfortable bed, a large bathroom with a powerful shower, and a well-equipped kitchen. The private, unoverlooked balcony was lovely. There are only five apartments, so it never feels overcrowded. The very large pool has plenty of sunbeds and lots of shade. I also love that they observe the traditional siesta, especially when afternoons get hot. Finikounda center is a flat ten-minute walk, with lovely tavernas and a great evening atmosphere. The nearest beach is also ten minutes away on foot, down a hill that isn’t too steep. We’ll be back.

We’ve just returned from two weeks here, and would definitely come again. Dion Zois is handy for the beach, town, and two lovely local tavernas, all on flat ground. Nearby, there are a couple of beautiful towns to visit, several beaches, and plenty of supermarkets and mini-markets. The town itself is pretty, with bars, restaurants, and shops. We stayed in a comfortable maisonette with everything we needed, including excellent air conditioning, good beds, and a well-equipped kitchen. The pool and grounds are immaculate, and there were always plenty of loungers without anyone needing to reserve them with towels. Dimitra, who owns Dion Zois, is fully fluent in English and always available with advice and local knowledge, but never intrusive. We’d recommend this accommodation.

Nine years ago, I found “Dion Zois Villas” through my own research while looking for somewhere nice for my family. We’ve stayed every year since, right up to now, because we appreciate the excellent facilities. The villas are in a beautiful, tree-filled yard, 200 meters from the beach and an easy walk from Finikounta village. They’re peaceful and private, like having your own home. The pool adds to the lovely setting, and each morning we wonder whether to stay in and enjoy the view or head out. For a summer break where you can relax and enjoy the season, it’s hard to find a better little paradise. Credit to the family owners, who care for the place all year round.
