Lucia and her colleagues gave us such wonderful service, and we had a really relaxing two weeks at Themonies. Our big Themonia villa had everything we needed, with stone walls and original ceiling beams made from driftwood. It was both luxurious and authentic. We loved the generous private outdoor area, with comfortable sun beds and a sitting spot, and the bar had a fantastic view of the monastery and a good selection of drinks. The place was beautifully decorated and kept spotless, with daily cleaning. Everyone on staff was friendly and professional. Even with a broken foot, I felt safe walking around at night because the outdoor areas were well lit. Lucia looked after us from the port transfer to the delicious breakfasts. The main town and square, with its restaurants and shops, were about a five minute walk away. Highly recommended if you're after comfort and a taste of real Greece.

We ended up checking out early after a string of problems, and the owner kept half a day's payment even though the manager, Mrs Lucia, had said we'd get our money back. We were shocked. Having to find somewhere else at the last minute was stressful, especially since we hadn't been told about the issues beforehand. We also weren't given a receipt for our payment or the local municipality tax. We informed the local authorities, the island mayor, and some local travel offices, and plan to report the tax issue to the tax office. I won't reply to any response from the hotel because there's no excuse for how we were treated. We'd explained to Mrs Mirca that we had a large, expensive Range Rover and needed parking. The website advertised free parking, but there was no parking at all, not even on the public street. When we checked in, the manager told us the refrigerator in our room was broken. She offered us a larger room for one night, then a change the next day, which was very inconvenient when we were on holiday and wanted to relax. The television in the larger room was tiny, old-fashioned, and didn't work. We were told the building's main antenna was broken and nobody was there to fix it. I personally can't sleep without a TV, and if one is listed among the room amenities, I expect there to be one. After moving between rooms and dealing with all these problems, we asked to leave and wanted our money back. This was a completely unpleasant stay, and I definitely wouldn't recommend the hotel. Even the rooms that look nice in the photos aren't as pretty in person. The owner's handling of things left me ashamed that people like this call themselves professionals in Greek tourism.
Breakfast was a highlight: delicious homemade waffles and jams, rice pudding, and omelettes with locally grown vegetables. We enjoyed it each morning in the generous outdoor space by our suite. Our suite was quiet, spacious, and very clean, and the team at Themonies was warm and quick to help with anything we needed. The location is excellent, right in the heart of Folegandros (Chora). It was a fantastic stay, and we'd happily return and recommend Themonies Luxury Suites.
Mirka made our honeymoon stay feel effortless. She was accommodating and helpful, and we never had to lift a finger. My husband and I spent part of our honeymoon at Themonies in folegandros and fell for it right away. The suites were spacious, very clean, and relaxing, just outside Chora. The beaches were a short ATV ride away, and we liked walking into the town center for dinner every night. The only thing missing in our room was a coffee maker. Thanks, Themonies, for a wonderful stay!
Our only suggestions would be to add a few more green plants outside and offer breakfast as a buffet. As it was, breakfast was made to order at the time we requested, and the service was good. The setting is perfect, overlooking the Chora. This small boutique hotel, with about 5-6 rooms, has a very original style. It's built into a former sheep stable, so no two rooms are alike. Nice, stylish, and distinctive.
