We only planned to stay one night, then kept extending until it was six. I’d have stayed longer if time allowed. Areti was quick to reply, always smiling, and ready with a solution. She and Sifis made us feel at home with real Cretan hospitality, and Sifis’s raki was some of the best we tried on the island. The apartments are spacious, clean, independent from the others, and have comfortable beds and a kitchen with what you need to cook. We loved sitting on the balcony and looking out at the sea, day or night. The internet was reliable for remote work, and there’s satellite TV too, though we never used it. Orthi Ammos beach is a lovely one-minute walk away. Fragkokastelo and the nearest supermarket are two minutes by car, or about a 15-minute walk. It’s a good base for exploring the beaches nearby, and there are three gorges suitable for hiking. Thanks for such lovely summer days!

The beach nearby is beautiful, and there’s a lovely view across the countryside. I’ll carry the memory of Areti’s wonderful hospitality with me. She made our stay at Melissa Apartment such a special one, and the place was clean and marvelous. One of my best stays on Crete. Thank you for a great time, I’d recommend it completely.

We’ve been coming back each summer for years, and Melissa Apartments has become a favorite. The apartments are comfortable, clean, well looked after, and equipped just right for a holiday in the wilder south. It’s a tucked-away spot, far from mass tourism. Areti and her family are lovely people, and we wholeheartedly recommend staying here.

We were after somewhere quiet, and this holiday gave us exactly the peace and quiet we wanted. The host was lovely and friendly, and her husband filled our fridge with homemade cheese, raki, and olive oil. The one thing that would have made it perfect was a swimming pool. We’ll be back. Areti was always friendly, smiling, and ready to help. We had some wonderful days in her apartment, a very pleasant place close to the sea, beach, and castle. It’s just right for relaxing away from the bustle. Thank you!
