Studios Stavris

We only spent one night here with our 3-year-old, but it was a very good stay. The owner was friendly, the rooms were very clean, and there was plenty of parking. The beach is just 10 meters from the courtyard, with a supermarket about 200 meters away. All the rooms have sea views. A great spot if you want to relax.

There’s a lovely little beach right in front, reached directly from the hotel. It’s full of fish, crabs, and coral, which give the sand a reddish look like Elafonisi. The rooms are dated, except for the kitchen, but for the price I’d stay again.

There’s a lovely garden facing the sea, and the mattresses are comfortable. The pillows really need replacing, though. The air conditioning and refrigerator are quiet, which is a big plus. Stavris studios is decent if you’re not looking for luxuries.

We planned on two nights and stayed four, mainly because of the beautiful beach beneath the imposing castle and the lovely weather. The room for two was spacious enough, with a balcony overlooking grounds that seemed rather neglected, perhaps because the season was ending. There were a few cleanliness issues, but they didn’t spoil our stay overall. The staff and owner were very friendly and helpful. The beach right outside the hotel is actually quite bad, with lots of rocks in and out of the water. I got a nasty cut on my thigh on the first day, so after that we went only to the fantastic Frangokastello's beach.
