Faros Octo in Gaios With 1 Bedrooms and 1 Bathrooms

The rooms were clean and spacious, and the price was good for Gaios. From an upper room, the view is amazing, and the balcony is a great place to sit with morning coffee. Gaios harbour is at most five minutes away on foot. The only drawback was getting there: there are stairs to climb and a steep uphill section at the end. Still, it was a great stay.

A nightmare of a stay. We left halfway through the reservation and lost the money for two nights. There was barely any privacy: the room door opened onto a balcony leading to other rooms, and the kitchen window faced other bathrooms. It was disgusting having to hear sounds that need no explanation. Hygiene was poor too, the shower was tiny with a curtain, the floor was wet, and then a large cockroach showed up. Nobody in charge was there.

The view from the room was amazing, and the place was spotless, with what you need to make breakfast or lunch if you want. Wifi was good, and it felt like good value for money. The cleaning lady was friendly and very helpful. There are some drawbacks: the stairs and steep climb make it unsuitable for anyone with mobility problems. The balcony is shared with the other two rooms on the floor, and the shower is very narrow, so a larger person might struggle. We also learned that checkout should be earlier than the time shown on the site. They let us leave a little late while waiting for the next guests, as they explained, but needed to clean the room. Even so, we were very pleased and would definitely return.

The rooms are run-down, leaky, and noisy from the air conditioning, and the mattresses are ruined. With 50 steps to climb while carrying suitcases, it's impossible. Avoid it at all costs!
