Verina Astra

The peaceful atmosphere made Verina Astra Hotel in Sifnos feel like a proper getaway. Bostani, right at the hotel, was another highlight: we had fresh Greek food with lovely sea views at sunset. Our room was beautiful, the views were stunning, and the pool was a relaxing place to spend time. The staff gave superb service and were what really made the stay special. Highly recommended!

Eleftheria brought a little extra brightness to every day with her positive energy. The whole team went out of their way to make things easier for us, including checking that meals were safe for my celiac disease. Thank you, George, Irene, and everyone! We had a spectacular honeymoon. The views, staff, food, and pool all made it feel special, and we barely needed a car since so many places were within walking distance of the hotel.

Being able to walk from the hotel down the hill toward the sea each morning was lovely. It felt secluded, but Artemonas, nearby villages, and beaches were still a short walk or drive away. Sifnos was our favorite of the five islands we visited, and Verina Astra made it even more special. It’s a wonderful choice if you’re after peace, beauty, and excellent service. Our room opened onto a private terrace with wide sea views, and the infinity pool facing the horizon was unforgettable. We were glad to get up early each morning for the sunrise. The hotel is tranquil and beautifully designed, with minimalist Cycladic touches and natural materials that give it a calm, elegant feel. The staff were so friendly and helpful. Anna Maria deserves a special thanks for her kindness and thoughtful recommendations. We loved the fresh, inventive food at Bostani, and looked forward to breakfast each morning.

The staff were what stayed with us most. From the moment my wife and I arrived for our seven-day honeymoon in mid-June 2025, they made us feel genuinely welcome and cared for. They were warm and open, while giving us room to connect when we wanted. Their service was excellent, they seemed to anticipate what guests needed, and when anything went wrong, they acted quickly to make it right. By the end, we felt we’d made connections that could last a lifetime. Shout out to Anna Maria and Evelina! The food and spa deserve their own mention. We enjoyed everything, from the included breakfast to the tasting menu at Bostani. The hotel restaurant turned typical Sifnian dishes into something elevated without feeling pretentious. Bostani was gastronomy at its best, and we’d definitely recommend booking a table. We were lucky enough to have two treatments at Bostani Spa, between the hotel and restaurant. The view alone made the visit worthwhile, and the staff were skilled and hospitable. We left both sessions wonderfully relaxed. We stayed in Perseus, perched at the top of the resort. It’s one of the two smaller rooms, but it was a cozy, quiet, well-appointed refuge after a long day in the sun. The spacious terrace was the real bonus: by day it looked out over sky, sea, cliffs, and islands, and at night the stars were spectacular. It was more sheltered from the wind than some other spots at Verina Astra, and a great place to read, have a cocktail ordered to the room, or play cards. The resort sits on Sifnos’s eastern edge and slopes toward the sea, in a setting as beautiful as the pictures suggest. The immediate area feels remote, but it’s still accessible. Artemon/Apollonia is no more than ten minutes away by car, and you can also reach Artemon/Apollonia and Kastro by Sifnian goat paths that meet just beyond the grounds. You can explore the island or stay put and lounge by the pool. Verina Astra was a special place, and we couldn’t have picked a better resort for our honeymoon. The rooms are lovely, the views are great, the location balances remoteness with access, the food stands out, and the staff shine.
