Villa Leonidas

We had wonderful beaches nearby, and the green bus stops were close too. The apartment sits a little above Agios Stefanos, which means a walk up, but it's quieter there than in town in the evening. Our host was lovely and even helped us find a scooter or quad rental during peak season when everything else was booked. The apartment was clean and spacious, and the AC worked fine.

We stayed in Villa number 2 from the end of August into early September. The bedrooms were a decent size, with beds large enough for Greece, where I've often found them short as well as narrow. The living room was spacious and the kitchen had a good range of appliances. There were mosquito nets over the beds, and the beach was easy to reach. I even found a nice book on the Villa's bookshelf. The biggest problem was the heat. The concrete porch became too hot to use once the sun came up, and AC access costs extra. I'm usually fine up to 29 degrees Celsius, but it got hotter than that. Opening the windows didn't bring a breeze because of how the Villas are built against each other. The bathroom has no window either, so shower heat spread into the house. Cleaning was poor. They took the trash out daily, but over our 10 days the sheets were changed just once and the house wasn't cleaned. With no outdoor shower to rinse off sand, a lot of it came inside and we had to sweep every day ourselves. A couple of other observations: Villa 1 is smaller, so I expect it would get even hotter. Villa 4 has another level above it, which makes it cooler.

It's about an 8-10 minute walk to the beach.

We found the place very clean and well equipped, with a friendly, helpful owner. It's peaceful too. Excellent.
