A great choice for families or couples, with a villa that has its own pool and bedrooms with private bathrooms.

There’s a lot of room here, and the location is wonderful. The rooms have enough amenities to cook what you like, which helps since food on the island is generally very expensive. They recycle and the staff are kind. It has a lot going for it, so I can’t understand why some things get neglected. Repairs and better cleaning are needed, though, and then it would be worth the money. When the place is closed up, there’s a bad smell that’s a real problem at night. We avoided the air conditioning because of several comments we’d seen, and it wasn’t too hot at this time of year. We left things open to air out the room. The bed is next to the bathroom, where the smell is stronger. The siphon definitely makes it worse, so put in a plastic plug! The bed wasn’t the most comfortable, especially the pillows, though that can vary from person to person. I didn’t sleep well. I still think the price is fair and you don’t feel you’ve wasted your money, but they could pay more attention to the issues people keep mentioning. As for bugs, there’s nature around you. We saw butterflies, lizards and ants when food was left on the counter, which is completely normal. I couldn’t bring myself to give it less than four stars, since it’s better than other places at a similar price.
