Ilios Hotel & Villas

Giorgina is a lovely hostess, sweet and always keeping an eye on her guests. Her team works like clockwork, and everyone seems to respect and care about her. A fair and square operation.

This was my second visit, for a swimming trip. The location is wonderful, with a little bar and pool, plus a good choice of nice restaurants just a short walk away beside the water. Nydri is a short drive away and has lots of shops, services and restaurants, though I was always glad to get back to my private hideaway at Illios. Desimi beach is 2.5km away on foot, a very pleasant walk I'd recommend. There are a couple of bars and restaurants there, and parking if you don't want to walk. Be aware that some rooms require a steep walk up the hillside, even though the path is paved, so you need to be reasonably able bodied. The rooms seem to have balconies and air conditioning, though I never use it. My only complaint is that some units are noisy, and the unit for the neighboring apartment was mounted on my wall.

This charming, independent, family run hotel, apartments and resort is full of wit and style. Georgia and her lovely staff are friendly and helpful. I'm back for a second time on a Big Blue swimming holiday, and I'm very happy to be here.

Mixed feelings. It's a fairly quiet place, nice enough for families, but the facilities as a whole are neither great nor terrible. It seems set up for families who go to bed by midnight at the latest, so it's not the place for a party. The room was meant for four but was rented to us for five. The fifth person slept in the living room, which had no air conditioning. We were there in August, and at midnight it was 25-26 degrees, so sleeping without AC was miserable. The oven kept short circuiting, and the owner knew about it but said he wouldn't fix it soon. Parking was advertised, but in practice you only get a space if you return from the sea early. There aren't spots set aside for guests, so assume you may not have one. The shower was broken and we had to hold it.
