Petasos Apartments

I saw rooms listed as available on several booking sites, but when I called, they told me they were fully booked for those same dates.

The rooms are roomy, and the people are nice. It's a little way from the village centre, though.

We booked this apartment at the last minute after a problem with a reservation somewhere else. It's dated and very basic: barely enough kitchen utensils, a tiny table for four, and a bathroom with a tub curtain and poor ventilation. Still, it was clean and tidy. Mosquitoes got through the screens, but at least there were electric coils to use. The pool was lovely, and we had a swim on our last day. There didn't seem to be any real pool rules. The owners were warm and helpful from the start. They lent us a beach umbrella and were always kind when we needed something. Their two dogs kept to themselves, and the cat outside our window never came into the house or bothered us. Late one evening, two deer had wandered into the garden, and we got to see them. The setting is quiet, with the village centre and beach each about a 10-minute walk away. It suits people with modest expectations who like some seclusion. I'd recommend booking through a private website instead of other sites.

The owner was friendly and helpful, and the apartment was clean, fresh-smelling, and comfortable, with excellent bedding and towels. It's in a quiet spot, still close to the village centre, restaurants, and nightclubs. The sea takes about 15 minutes to reach on foot or 3 minutes by car. The pool is a nice place to spend a peaceful afternoon.
