The two villas face very different ways. One looks out to sea, while the other faces a busy road just 10 meters from the pool. We stayed in the latter, and it wasn't cleaned properly, even after we complained and asked for a second cleaning. There were cockroaches in and around the house and lots of mosquitoes. Nearby, the rocky beach has very clear water and few people. Getting there is rough, though, and there's no shade at all, with no umbrellas provided by the villa.
From the outside, the villa looked modern and lovely. Once we got inside, the problems kept appearing. The kitchen utensils were dirty, ants were everywhere in the kitchen and forced us to throw away a lot of food, and the stove never got hot enough to cook, even after an hour. The bathrooms were partly dirty, so we cleaned them ourselves. The shower bracket was unstable and wouldn't hold the shower head. Although there were three showers, there wasn't enough water to use them together, and the temperature kept changing on its own. The water also left heavy limescale in the bathrooms. On day two, water leaked from a bathroom while we were showering. It ran into the bedroom, down the hall, and through the wall and lamp into the stairwell. We contacted the owner, Nikos, right away. He came about 1.5 hours later. By the next morning the leak seemed fixed, but in our view only temporarily: the siphon seal was broken and had just been covered with silicone or acrylic. Later, we were wrongly blamed for the problem. A door jamb was also nearly falling off, which could have caused an injury. After a few days, the pool water level had dropped by 15 cm. The cleaning staff told us the pump was defective the next morning. The pool became unusable, and despite contacting Nikos frequently, it took two days to fix. We could swim again after three days. We asked for a rent reduction because we couldn't use the pool for those three days, but Nikos didn't really engage with the request and gave us no answer. There were so many visits from tradespeople that we couldn't always relax. We found our contact with Nikos unreliable because he didn't reply regularly, and he was unkind toward the end. On departure day, no one came for the key, so we left it on a table in the villa. We were very disappointed with Blue Waves Villa. The outdoor area, pool, sun loungers and sea view were fantastic, and the location was good. The lovely, quiet beach was only a few meters away, while shops and scooter rentals were about 5 km away. It's a pity the stay went this way.
There's plenty of space in this well-designed house for six people. A group of eight would need to use the sofas. The pool wasn't especially clean, though it was a good extra. Being right by the main road could bother some people.
A great spot, just a short distance from the beach.
We booked a villa with a sea view but were given the one facing the road. The pool couldn't be used for four days because the water had turned green with algae, and the Wi-Fi was out for two days. There was also a leaking pipe. After we complained, they gave us a decent refund, thankfully.
