It was very quiet at night, which made for lovely sleep. The hotel is pretty and sits in a peaceful spot, while Georgioupoli is only a five-minute trip away. Breakfast was good, and the staff were really friendly. The AC did leak a little, but things happen, and the owner took care of it quickly. We appreciated that. It's a relaxing place between Chania and Rethymno, with a bit of distance from the bustle but a convenient location. I'd recommend it. Photos are from our balcony.

We had a lovely view across the area, and the setting felt far enough removed from busy towns to be a real escape. Alkion is peaceful both day and night, yet conveniently close to Georgioupoli, Rethymno and Chania, about 5 minutes, 35 minutes and an hour away by car, respectively. The big pool is well cared for, with plenty of room to lounge. Breakfast is served daily and is very cheap, as detailed below.

The owners are lovely and always ready to help, and the price is great. Our basic apartment had everything we needed and was cleaned every day. The pool area is pretty, with stunning views, and you can get breakfast and snacks as well as beer and soft drinks by the pool. It's a hillside complex with three tavernas a short walk away, though there isn't a shop. We walked down to the main resort, about 20 minutes, and took a cab back up. Some people might prefer having a car. If you're after good value away from the crowds, I'd recommend it.

Dimitri and his lovely parents run Alkion, in an outstanding spot with romantic scenery all around. We had an amazing time, and it was such a good place to spend our holiday. Yamas from Bertil and Emma 🍻☀️

A lovely, relaxing atmosphere, with comfortable rooms, a nice breakfast and a great pool. These family-run apartments have fantastic views of the port and the surrounding mountains in Crete. Georgiopolis and the beach are a five-minute drive away, and Kournas Lake is ten minutes away. Such good value, a golden gem in Crete that shouldn't be missed.
