You’ll need a car to see the north coast of Crete, with all its places to visit and lovely beaches. I still miss my morning swim with Mount Ida in view and the bright blue sky above. Filippou Villa gave us a blissful stay: I was there with my husband and three teens, and we each had space, with the pretty courtyard as a spot to gather for food and time in the shade. The pool is a good size, with plenty of room for loungers and umbrellas. There’s also an outdoor shower under a pomegranate tree, plus your own grapevine and lemon tree. Andreas was helpful and quick to reply, and his father was around to top up the pool and check that everything was okay.

Andreas and his father Stelios were welcoming and there when we needed them. The house made for an ideal real vacation, with a calm atmosphere and beautiful Cretan nature all around.

The garden and pool are lovely, and each bathroom had towels and shampoo. The owners were excellent hosts. I'd definitely recommend it.

A lovely, authentic house, and pets are welcome. The hosts were kind and kept a respectful distance.

It was peaceful and magical, and the place was very clean. The kids had a great time while we adults could relax. The owners were so hospitable and ready to help.
