The Egeon

Polly, the owner, is terrific. She has such a generous, welcoming way about her, and will help with whatever you need. The place is very clean, with a beautiful sea view, right by the beach and close to the town centre. It has everything you need for your stay. I think this is the best place to stay in Giorgoupoli. You won't regret coming. Take my word for it!

The location was just right, near beaches, bars and restaurants, but quiet enough at night to sleep undisturbed. At the harbour you can book fishing trips and excursions, or hire pedalos. There are also good supermarkets, clothing shops and a chemist nearby, so you can get what you need. We really enjoyed staying at Egeon. We were lucky to get the top-floor apartment, with a superb balcony looking over the river and harbour. Inside, it was spacious, clean and comfortable. It had air con, a TV, hairdryer, fridge, kettle and double hot plate, plus a safety deposit box at no extra charge. The bathroom was small but perfectly usable, with a great shower and hot water at any time of day. The balcony patio door had a mosquito screen, which definitely helped.

The rooms are affordable and well kept, and I'd recommend them. The location beside the river is lovely, close to very tasty family restaurants and textbook beaches. The owner is lovely, bless her.

Polly and her family are friendly and helpful, and I'd recommend the studios without hesitation. They were clean and comfortable, with a good position and views of the river and harbour. The geese on the river are noisy, but fun to watch.
