Villa Stella

We stayed at Villa Stelios from September 28 to October 8. The hosts were kind and welcomed us with fruit and a cake, but several things made the stay disappointing. The outdoor area is nice, though the interior feels quite dated. The listing on Booking.com didn’t make clear that the accommodation wasn’t suitable for 11 people. There were only four rooms with locks and 10 beds, plus an old, uncomfortable sofa bed in the living room where you could feel every spring. When we raised this, the hosts weren’t cooperative. If a sofa bed is offered, it should at least be decent. It would also help to say clearly on Booking.com that toilet paper shouldn’t be flushed. This is common in Greece, but inconvenient with 11 guests. More seriously, we encountered bed bugs. The hosts acted quickly, called pest control, and changed all the bedding, but told us there had been a bed bug problem one or two months earlier. We had to leave the house for half a day, and guests should be told about an issue like that in advance. The bed bugs weren’t fully gone, and we kept getting new bites. With all these problems, we can only give 2 stars.
