Ikos Olivia

There’s plenty to enjoy here: good pools, a lovely kids club, a wonderful spa treatment, and activities including tennis, volleyball, kayaking, pedalos, bike hire and car hire. The food and drinks had excellent quality and choice, and the staff were friendly and polite, clearly trying to make the stay pleasant. Some service details were frustrating. I had to ask twice for a spoon with dessert, and one of our room service drinks never arrived, even after I messaged the hotel WhatsApp about the missing drink. We also got the impression there may be fewer staff than two years ago, so perhaps people are stretched thinner. Information wasn't always consistent. A restaurant server said we could pre-order food from one restaurant to have it delivered to another where we were booked the next evening, but the WhatsApp team said that wasn't possible. More than once, we were told we couldn't move dinner an hour earlier. When we went in person and asked, though, they kindly seated us at 7:45 instead of our 8:30 booking, and there seemed to be several tables free. They also very kindly found a way for us to dine at The Garden on an evening when we'd previously been told it wasn't available.

The staff were genuinely kind, the service was great, and the room and facilities were lovely. We enjoyed table tennis, swimming, darts and the gym. Niki from guest relations listened sympathetically and gave us a 9% discount, which we appreciated. The big problem for us was how family-focused Ikos Olivia is. We came for our honeymoon expecting the tranquil, peaceful escape suggested by the website, but most guests seemed to be families with young children. At meals, kids were often crying, shouting or running around our table, which really took away from the romantic atmosphere when we were dressed up for dinner. Daytime was less of an issue, but the adults-only areas were almost always full. Even the adults-only restaurant sections were right beside children's tables. I know parents have a part in this, but I think the resort should be more upfront in its marketing about what couples can expect. We felt cheated out of our money and honeymoon because of what seemed like false advertising. Other couples we spoke with had similar complaints after spending thousands too. We can't have our honeymoon again, and all the money we saved for Ikos didn't feel worth it. I hope other couples can avoid making the same mistake. We heard that some other Ikos resorts, like Dassia, may suit couples better, and that Olivia tends to have the most children because it is small and flat. That kind of information should be available online so guests can choose with a clear idea before booking.

We came as a couple and had a lovely time. There were plenty of children around, but the many adults-only areas made it work perfectly for us. The service was spot on, the restaurants were excellent, breakfast was fantastic, and beach service was impeccable. Highly recommend! :-)

The beach and pool were lovely, calm and clean, with loungers available and staff bringing drinks and snacks right to us. The clear water and relaxed feel made it easy to unwind. We also used one of the included Tesla cars for a day, and a shuttle was arranged to Cosmos Mediterranean shopping centre, which is well worth visiting. We spent 10 days at Ikos Olivia and felt refreshed when we left. The gardens and olive trees are beautiful, and even with the hotel full it never felt crowded. Our modern, spacious room was spotless, with thoughtful touches and flawless housekeeping. We mostly ate at Flavors, where the food was consistently impressive for variety, quality and presentation. The team there were friendly and attentive, and did a lot to make each meal enjoyable. There are plenty of other restaurants too, plus a dining out experience, all included in the holiday. From arrival, everyone was warm, efficient and smiling. The staff throughout were kind, professional and clearly cared about making guests feel special. Nothing seemed too much trouble.
