The rocky beach and strong waves may not suit little kids, though nearby hotels let you swim if you eat there. Airiana Apartments is clean and peaceful, with bakeries close by and an easy bus ride to Chania despite being somewhat out of the way. The air conditioning worked perfectly, and it felt well suited to families.

Buses to Chania stop at nearby Hotel Myrion several times daily, and the main road has services to Chania and Kissamos. For groceries, Zografakis is about 650 meters away; Gerani Bakery/ Koffee Shop is another 350 meters up the road for fresh bread. Ariana Studios and Apartments is a quiet spot in Gerani, west of busier Agia Marina. The 18-apartment complex is around 30 meters from the sea. You can use sun loungers at Myrion Beach and Spa Resort or Hotel Eanthia by buying a drink at their bars. The landlady and cleaning staff were very friendly. Our apartment was clean, in good condition, and had a newly renovated bathroom.

A great place to stay in Gerani.

The beach was so quiet, and the neighboring restaurant’s pool and loungers were free to use if you bought a drink. Our studio had a separate sausage, and we could open the window at night, which made sleeping comfortable. We stayed July 3-11, 2025, in studio 14. It was a nice, comfortable, quiet hotel with good cleaning, good beds, and a shady balcony. The room looked a little worn but did the job; the bathroom was cramped, though adequate for us. There was a draft, so we didn’t use the air conditioning.

Being just a 30-second walk from the sea was perfect. There are also two nearby pool bars where you can get a drink and swim. The apartment was lovely, cleaned every day, and the floors were spotless. Kristina was so friendly and responsive, a huge thank you to her and the staff.
