Giannoulaki Resort

We had a balcony off our comfortable room, which was a nice bonus, and the pool was a great spot to cool off in the heat. The hotel is well placed for exploring, and it has a lovely, small, family-run feel. Staff were friendly and ready to help.

We tried the restaurant, bar, and pool, and had no complaints. The cocktails were delicious, with complimentary peanuts, and the pool was cold but well kept, with good sunbeds around it. The food was great too, especially the souvlaki with its outstanding tatziki. Breakfast was included and had plenty to choose from, like eggs, bacon, pastries, and fruit. I still think about their espresso. I don't know what kind it was, but it tasted amazing, and I wish I could have it every day. Our room was what we expected, cleaned daily, and the staff were very friendly.

The pool is gorgeous, and the staff were genuinely thoughtful and friendly. We found some excellent restaurants within walking distance from their recommendations, much better than the places we ate at in Santorini. There's also a nearby market for reasonably priced snacks and drinks if you'd rather not use the bar. A short bus ride gets you to the beach, shopping, and tourist spots, though the hotel itself isn't on the waterfront. It's a lovely, very clean hotel with spacious rooms and feels like a good 3- or 4-star stay. Some Google reviewers seemed to expect luxury 5-star amenities, which it isn't. Keep in mind that it's not accessible, as there are stairs up to the pool and bar. The beds were my one real gripe; they weren't comfortable, though we still slept fine after spending all day in the sun.

We were very happy with what we paid for our three nights in June. The hotel is affordable, well connected, and not far from the city center. The staff's warmth and knowledge of the island really stood out. Eleni and Josh gave us lots of ideas for where to go, including Eleni's Lighthouse tip, which turned out to be the best sunset spot in Mykonos for us. They also helped sort out an issue with our Delos tour, and we appreciated how proactive they were. We arrived to find we'd been upgraded to a large, spacious room with direct access to the swimming pool. It made us feel welcome straight away. The beds were comfortable and big enough, and the room and bathroom were cleaned and refreshed daily, which was especially welcome after beach days. The soap and shampoo dried our skin out, perhaps because it's a beach destination, but it wasn't a major issue. We were out most days, so didn't try the bar or restaurant for lunch or drinks. Breakfast was included, with enough choice for us, both savory foods like omelets, ham, bacon, sausage, salad, and cheese, and sweet options such as baked goods and croissants. We could eat inside or by the large pool, which had plenty of sunbeds.
