The place was exceptionally clean, and the hosts were quick to reply on Booking.com. They booked taxis, left us wine and thoughtful extras, and even did our washing up once, though there was a lot and we planned to do it ourselves. They were incredibly friendly and attentive. The sea view from the lovely room was beautiful. The kitchen was properly equipped with a hob, utensils, dishes, pots and pans, everything we needed. The bed felt a bit hard to me, though my boyfriend was comfortable, so that may just come down to preference. It was two single beds pushed together rather than a proper double, which wasn’t ideal. Getting around takes some effort if you don’t drive or have trouble walking. We didn’t mind the walks at first, but after 7-8 days we felt worn out. The nearest beach is about 40 minutes downhill on foot, then uphill on the way back. Pelekas, with its restaurants, bars, a few supermarkets and a bakery, is around a 20-minute walk and has stunning views. Corfu Airport is about a 20-minute drive away. A car makes this Airbnb a better fit. Ubers charge a fixed €40 each time, whatever the distance, so regular taxis may be a little more flexible, though not much cheaper. We had a perfect stay and I’d absolutely recommend it.

A car or scooter is a must here. With one, it’s a calm place to stay, with a magnificent sea view and Pelekas nearby for the basics. The host is wonderful and makes everything run so smoothly that you feel at home. I’d happily stay again and again for a taste of local life.

Pelekas is magical, especially at sunset. The accommodation was very clean and tidy, with the apartment cleaned and towels changed each day. Maria and her daughter welcomed us so warmly. People like them are rare. I highly recommend staying here.

Maria made us feel like we were visiting a dear relative on a Greek island. She was always kind and helpful, ready for a chat over coffee or to help with anything we needed. She encouraged us to explore, shared tips for local food, sweets and beach bars, and helped us rent a scooter. The garden and sea views were gorgeous. The room was immaculate, with daily cleaning, and the kitchen and bathroom were sparkling. We got to eat the delicious garden vegetables several times, along with their homemade olive oil. Maria also welcomed us with a bottle of lovely homemade wine and homemade kumquat products, then treated us to garden vegetables and sweets during our stay and gave us a gift when we left. I’d choose Anemone again for its quiet setting, warm atmosphere, and lovely conversations with Maria.
