Athens Glyfada Studio

We enjoyed this place enough to extend our stay from two nights to five. At 46€ a night, plus a 30€ cleaning deposit per stay in mid-April, it felt fairly priced. The owner lives on site, was friendly, and spoke good English. There’s a large supermarket by Elliniko Metro, which is around a 15-minute walk or three bus stops away. A bus station is about a minute from the studio, and rides cost 1.20€ each or 8.70€ for a five-day pass. Despite being close to a major Athens road, the room stayed quiet. Inside, it’s small but comfortable and well laid out for two people exploring Athens. The queen bed was comfy, although one side has to sit against the wall. The bathroom shower was good, and the kitchen came with a three-burner stovetop, small oven, and compact fridge-freezer. Lighting, air conditioning, and hot water all worked well, and the decor was nice. There’s reserved parking, a shaded outdoor seating spot, and a ping-pong table. The only little extras I wished for were a microwave and an ice cube tray.

We had a lovely stay in the studio. It was clean and comfortable, and the location made getting to public transport easy. The host was incredibly nice.

The owner was helpful and friendly, and parking was excellent. The only drawback was getting to the city center: the metro can take you there, but the station is at least a kilometer away.

On October 13, we walked a kilometer from the metro to the accommodation, but nobody was there. We had booked after arriving in Athens and called as agreed, yet they didn’t answer or tell us whether there was a problem. We ended up scrambling for a room that evening, which was a huge hassle. Unacceptable. If you were expecting us, why didn’t you pick up when you had told us to call?
