There are plenty of decent local tavernas, and a bus just up the road goes into town or out to Malia and its ruins. Knossos is easy to get to as well. The landlord was helpful and accommodating, and the beautiful villa is only a short stroll from the sea. Ideal if you want to self-cater with a bunch of friends. Superb place to stay.

The guest was very welcoming, the house was clean, and the view was nice. The area was the one drawback: it wasn't very populated, there wasn't much to do in the evenings, and the beaches weren't especially spectacular or turquoise.

Good value for the money, and a good location. The owner provided excellent service.
