Afrodite Beach Club

The decor was beautiful and the service excellent, but the food let the place down. My chicken dish tasted processed, though I haven’t actually eaten processed chicken before, and I couldn’t finish it. The waitress offered to replace it, but it would have taken a while and my husband was nearly done with the steak he enjoyed, so she brought me a fruit platter instead. The place itself is top notch and very upmarket.

The cocktail bar made our evenings at Aphrodite Beach Club something to look forward to. Drinks were top quality, service was excellent, and the atmosphere stayed fun but relaxing. Mr. Mike deserves a special mention. He was friendly and professional, and his cocktails were always spot on, whether we wanted a mojito or something more creative. We’ll definitely be back, and thanks to Mr. Mike for the great energy and drinks!

The junior suite worked really well for our family of four, with a master bedroom and a second room with two twin beds. The beach was just a minute away, and the staff and service were amazing. The bar cocktails were consistently great too. The bathroom shower didn’t keep the water contained, so the whole floor got wet, and the window had no net, which let mosquitoes in if we forgot to close it.

We came here to switch off and relax, and the hotel was very good for that. It may not suit you if you want to explore Greece and experience the local culture, since the location isn’t ideal for sightseeing. But for a sunny, peaceful holiday with few distractions, it’s a nice choice. We especially liked the pools, friendly staff, clean surroundings, bars, and buffet. With all-inclusive, there were plenty of drinks and snacks, including ice cream and slushies, available for much of the day. Shade was a frustration. There are plenty of umbrellas, but they give little protection and can’t be angled. The small canopy beside the main pool is the only spot that stays shaded for most of the day, and it’s always occupied. Guests aren’t meant to reserve chairs, but nobody enforces that rule. I’m an early riser and was up around 5:30-6, yet the canopy chairs already had towels on them, while their owners didn’t appear for hours. More canopies, or actually enforcing the rule, would help. The other thing that bothered me was the waste from paper cups. Glass is understandably banned around the pool, but we were given paper cups even when we said we’d stay at the bar. We brought used cups back to refill and still got fresh ones, and sometimes cups beside our chairs were taken away while we were gone even though we would have reused them. The bins were overflowing with cups every afternoon. It felt like such unnecessary waste, and must be costly too. Surely reusable cups that guests could bring back for refills would work better. Even with those issues, we had a very relaxing holiday. The service was excellent, and the hotel was clean and beautiful. :)
