Creta Camping

The place itself is okay, but I’m worried about the people around it. Some people deliberately rev their motorbikes on the road in front of the camping to harass others. The police don’t come, and it feels very unsafe because of the dangerous people there.

The owner was very friendly, and the price was very affordable. But there were no campervans or cabins to rent, just tents, and there was no shared kitchen. The location also felt quite remote.

I had three peaceful nights here, with everything I needed, and they even washed my clothes. It’s a great campsite at a good price, and the hosts are extremely kind and pleasant.

The sanitary facilities are very outdated and not especially clean. The women running the place came across as extremely unfriendly and unwelcoming, and there seemed to be little care for details or customer service. It’s also more expensive than other places, and the infrastructure isn’t very good. There’s no taverna close by, so you have to walk a bit. The mini market has some tables, but it didn’t feel like a pleasant place to sit. Most guests seemed to be long-time campers who spend their days sitting there and watching everyone. Many were Germans. I’d recommend a place around Kissamos, about 5-10km before Kissamos when coming from Chania direction, directly by the sea. It has much better access to the sea, lots of restaurants and taverns, lower prices, more trees and shade, and much friendlier people.
