Kleanthi Apartments

We had a lovely time at Kleanthi’s apartments. Kleanthi and her son were always willing to help, and it was nice to take it easy by the pool. The price was reasonable too, and the location made a good base for seeing the island. Thanks, Kleanthi, we’d happily recommend staying here.

The lovely owner greeted us warmly, and our beds were made every day during our seven-day Love Holiday booking. It’s a great little place, with good local spots for food and shoes. The cooking facilities could be better, and although the pool behind the hotel looked nice, I didn’t swim in it. It suited us as a couple, and I can see it working well for a small family too. We’d recommend it if you’re happy with a simple place to stay and don’t need anything fancy. All in all, we had a great time! :)

The owner’s food was very nice, and both the food and drinks cost less than at the main resort. Our apartment was spacious and clean, and it was cleaned on most days, so we had an enjoyable holiday. The pool area could use some attention. Some patio tiles need replacing, the parasols over the sun loungers need renewing, and I never saw the pool being cleaned. The hotel is on the far side of the main road from the resort, so crossing means walking 500m to an intersection and then 500m back towards the hotel. The resort starts after roughly a 15-minute walk, and it’s about 30 minutes to its centre.

Kleanthi and Nikos are the reason people come back year after year. She’s busy with cleaning, cooking and hosting, but still remembers your drinks and takes such care with the details. The service was lovely, and breakfast was available from 9-11, with the pool bar open until 1am. You could choose European-style food or a full English, or just ask Kleanthi for fruit or toast. The food at the apartments was reasonably priced. The BBQ evening was great and felt like a family occasion, though it only happens when enough people are there. The rooms are basic, with a single hob, toaster, kettle and hairdryer. Safes and air conditioning cost extra, but were well worth it to keep cool. There were enough sunbeds, and we never had to fight for one. We came back late one afternoon and still found beds, and there were plenty available in the mornings too. It’s a quiet, relaxing place, though the walks to the beach, shops and bars are long. If you enjoy a gentle stroll along the coast, the sunset is amazing. We’ll definitely return for longer next time and hire a car. I’ve attached some photos of the food and BBQ evening, as well as the coastal landscape.
