The local stonework gives the place a distinctive feel, a reminder of the village crafts from the days when stone was the material people worked with. The surroundings and atmosphere are peaceful and old fashioned, as though time stopped 100 years ago. Visit before it catches up with the times.

I only visited the nice old town. I didn't rent a room there.

Villa Callisto made our holiday, and we're sad it's over. We spent three nights in this beautiful house as a group of nine and really enjoyed the place and the pool. The owner was great to communicate with, and we found chilled water and small pastries in the fridge as a welcome gift. There was plenty of room for ten people, everything was very clean, and the house had what we needed, including a washing machine, hairdryer, and iron. It's quite high up and stays cooler, so bringing a jacket for the evenings was a good idea. A few cats came to visit us too. It's almost in the middle of the island, which makes it handy for excursions. Places are about 20 km away in every direction, but the roads wind and go up and down, so the drive can take a while. The airport is about 20 minutes away, the nearest minimarket around 10 minutes, and the west side beach about 15 minutes.
