Pantheon City Hotel

⭐⭐⭐⭐☆ The views over Gytheio port made the stay special, and the staff were very helpful. Since I was staying longer, they changed my room three times without any fuss. Parking was the one real downside. From July 20th to August 20th, the hotel has no parking available. Sometimes I had to search for up to an hour, then walk a long way back. A car is almost essential if you want to explore the area around Gytheio. The town is walkable, but beaches such as Mavrovouni and Valtaki, the ancient theatre of Gytheio, and trips to Mani or Monemvasia are easier to reach by car. Public transport is limited, and taxis can get expensive if you use them often. Having a car lets you explore at your own pace, find hidden coves, stop at small tavernas, and enjoy the scenic drives around Laconia. If you want to see more than the town center, renting or bringing a car makes a real difference. Aside from the parking, everything was excellent, and I’d happily stay again.

It was easy to find the hotel, since it’s right on the main road. The place was very clean, and the service was very good. You can also order food to your room if you’d rather stay in.

It was extremely loud. We asked for a quiet room, but couldn’t sleep until 3am, then the noise started again at 6am.

The location is good, but the rooms are average, dated, and worn. I’m not sure what earns this place three stars, since they feel more like motel rooms. The sea-view rooms also overlook a very busy road. You can hear everything through the walls, from people walking normally to quiet conversations in other rooms. They might as well not be there. Bring earplugs and you can get a nice low-budget stay.
