Everything was great.

The WiFi was reasonably okay, but the rest was a disaster. The rooms are tiny, with hardly any space to move around. There’s no reception, and nobody is there to meet you. You have to call the number posted at the entrance for a woman to come over after the rooms are cleaned, sometime between noon and 4 pm, but you don’t know when. The cleaners don’t speak English or Serbian. In the three-bed studio, the kitchen had just three glasses, two mugs, one 5-liter pot, and no frying pan. Coffee on the stove takes half an hour. There are no kitchen chairs or table, and the terrace table with three chairs is so cramped that three people can’t sit around it. The TV is the smallest I’ve ever seen, and there’s only a makeshift shelf built into the wall. You can only shower when hot water happens to be available, usually in the afternoon, and then that’s all for the day. Don’t be naive like us, choose somewhere better. It’s not worth more than 10 euros a night.

The city beach is only a five-minute walk away, but everything else was awful. Hygiene was terrible, the beds and furniture were old, and the dishes were scarce. There were three of us sharing one cup, one glass, and one saucepan. The terraces were narrow and small, and the bedding wasn’t changed once during our 10 days. People we met had paid the same amount for a cleaner, larger apartment. If I could, I’d give this place a clear zero.

There was nowhere at the property to sit or use a toilet while waiting for the afternoon bus, even though we’d rented the room through an agency. We stayed in an unrenovated first-floor room. It was a fairly spacious triple, with a terrace that suited three people, and it was all neat and clean. The WiFi was excellent. Beds were okay, but not especially comfortable, and the old wardrobe had just one shelf, so we had to pile everything up. The kitchen area was good, with the usual dishes for Greek studios in this price range. The bathroom was just big enough to turn around in. On cloudy, cold days there was no hot water.
