Hotel Hanioti Melathron

The daily room cleaning was fine, but the bathroom was a disaster and the furniture looked very old. Food was basic and exactly the same each day. I expected more from a four-star hotel. My stay wasn’t all bad, but based on my experience I’d call it two stars, not four. Overrated.

Breakfast was the same every day and absolutely awful. The room was a disaster, and hygiene was about as bad as it gets. This place felt like it had no stars at all, despite being called four-star. I wouldn’t recommend the food to anyone, and I definitely wouldn’t bring children here. Completely disappointing.

The room cleaning never happened for us, and the TV only worked for sound. Every day they promised it would be fixed, but it wasn’t. The bathroom was a shock as soon as we walked in, and breakfast was the worst we’ve ever had. We were greeted at reception by a drunk woman, too. TERRIBLE, all around.

The only real plus was the location, near the beach and restaurants in Hanioti. The rest of the stay was miserable, and I’m shocked this is considered a four-star hotel. We paid far too much for what was offered. I’ve stayed in two- and three-star places with much better service and cleanliness. The building badly needs repairs and a proper cleaning team. Two cleaners were handling more than 50 rooms a day. Towels or bedding were only changed sometimes, and our sandy floor was never swept or mopped during our 10-day stay. The shower stalls are poorly designed, so each shower flooded the bathroom floor. You had to ask reception for more shower gel, shampoo, or soap, or you’d never get any. The toilet flush button was broken and leaking. A plumber came after we reported it, looked at it, and did nothing; by the next day it was leaking again. The lobby and pool furniture looked nice until you got close and saw how disgusting it was. Cleanliness was really, really bad. If breakfast is included, better not to bother: there was little choice, the food tasted bad, and they served coffee with milk that had gone off. They had nothing to say when we mentioned it. It seemed they were buying the cheapest, lowest-quality food for guests.
