Elia Tree Studios

I chose this apartment because it seemed to have what I needed near PAGNH hospital. I was due to be hospitalized there for treatment the next morning, was traveling alone, and had told the host in advance about my situation and health condition. When I arrived, the room was filthy: human hair across the floor, empty bottles from previous guests, toothpaste in the sink and shower, and spiders and nests under the cabinets. I called the owner right away and asked him to see it for himself. I asked for the studio to be cleaned again while I went to dinner, since I’d be back late just to sleep. He nodded but didn’t even apologize. I was already stressed about the next day, so I tried to let it go and thought mistakes happen. Before I returned that night, I called to ask if it had been cleaned. I believe I spoke with the other owner, if I understood correctly, the two were brothers. He was rude and said there had been some hair, probably from my luggage, but it had been cleaned again as requested. I got back at 11 p.m. and found the same mess. The floor had been mopped, but the hair had only been pushed into the corners. I broke down crying and cleaned with just water and antiseptic, the only things I had with me. Thank God I’d brought my own sheets and towels. I felt awful. After I was discharged from hospital, I bought proper cleaning products and spent two hours scrubbing the studio myself, just so I could bear to stay there without feeling completely disgusted. I had tried to find somewhere else from the first night, but there was nothing available at such short notice. I was treated with no respect, and I’ll never forget this experience.
