Kipos Boutique Suites

We spent a week here and used it as our base in Crete. The location made getting around Herakleion easy: a short walk takes you to the shopping and restaurant streets of 1821 and 1867, and 1821 leads down to the waterfront, castle, and marina. Parking beside the centre is a real bonus, though reaching it through the old town's narrow streets can test your driving, especially in our 5m station wagon. It's a small trade-off for parking so close, since otherwise you'd have to use the high-tech robotic car park 10 minutes up the road. Our ferry reached Herakleion at 6:30, and we got to the hotel around 7. Reception is generally staffed from 8:30 until about midnight, but a very polite cleaning lady met us. We went for breakfast nearby, and the two bougatsa cafés on Lion Square, Phyllo-sophies and Kirkor, are highly recommended. When we came back, Mike greeted us warmly. He and his colleague Manos were both polite. Mike found us a room well before the usual 15:00 check-in and upgraded us to a superior room because it was low season, so we could rest after the comfortable overnight ferry. We stayed in room 106, which worked well for an older person like me. It was huge, quiet, and spotless, with high-end linen, a desk, breakfast table and chairs, and a large, functional bathroom. The kitchen was very well equipped, including an espresso machine, complimentary coffee capsules, hot water for tea, plates, and cutlery. We have nothing but praise for this excellent, well-kept place.

Giannis was very kind and hospitable throughout my three-night stay at Kipos Suites in Heraklion. He helped arrange my airport shuttle and took care of check-in and check-out, while also making sure I was comfortable. I was there for the 2025 EuroSafety conference at the Cultural Conference Center of Heraklion, less than a five-minute walk away.

The room was clean, comfortable, and very well maintained, and both receptionists we met were polite and helpful, greeting us with a smile and offering assistance. Kipos Suites is in Heraklion's old city, a quiet setting about a five- to six-minute walk from the centre. Finding the parking area can be a little tricky. There is no elevator, which may be inconvenient for people with mobility issues or heavy luggage.

We only stayed one night and wished we could have stayed longer. Yiannis kindly upgraded us to a beautiful room with great facilities, including toiletries, slippers, a little kitchen, coffee machine, and fridge. The bed was comfy, everything was spotless, and the location was really quiet. Highly recommend.
