Scalarea Estate Residences

We booked directly with the hotel for one night at a reasonable price. It's a small place, and we stayed in the Malvasia room. The setting is lovely, with rolling hills and vineyards, and there's a shared stone patio. The nearest very small town is a short drive away, and we had an excellent meal at a restaurant there. The breakfast was very nice, served by a gracious and friendly woman. Our room was spacious, though it didn't look as nice as the website photos led us to expect, and it smelled moldy. There was a worn rug near the sofa. The bathroom was huge but all concrete, with just one very small bath mat. I would have liked information in the room about the winery, perhaps including a small discount for a tasting. The winery closed early, so we didn't get to visit.

The staff were very friendly and helpful, treating you like family. These countryside villas are ideal if you want a relaxing holiday, and the residences bring a touch of luxury. You can also visit the amazing Winery of boutaris, one of Greece's best wine-making companies. A unique place to visit.

We had a really nice winery tour. Our guide was friendly and patient, answered all our questions, and never hurried us. While we drank the wine, we could watch birds of prey outside. A lovely experience.

We stayed here on the way to Santorini and wished we'd booked more nights. The staff were amazing and went above and beyond to make sure we were okay. Breakfast was local and the most delicious you can try in Greece. The wine tasting was very good, too. An amazing place for a stay with your significant other. Highly recommended.
