Porto Village

The hotel’s shared areas were clean and well kept, including the dining room, where there was plenty of seating inside and out. Staff in the dining room were polite and helpful. The food was basic, with a few choices. Our room was cleaned every two days, and the cleaners were always busy and very polite. Outside, we had a patio table and two chairs. The gym was ten seconds away, and the pool and bar were about a minute from the room. I’m basing this on room 901. It felt old and tired, with a missing bath plug, a soap holder that wasn’t screwed to the wall, a broken mirror shelf, and a loose cupboard handle. It was a double room with a kitchenette and fridge. The TV was small, with Sky News as the only English channel. The hotel is being upgraded. For what I paid, it was a lovely place to relax and unwind. Sunday karaoke was a great evening, with every singer getting a shot. On Monday they put on a Greek night, the dancers were amazing, the music was brilliant, and they encouraged everyone to join in. We had a wonderful time.

Big thanks to the fantastic team at Porto Village Hotel, from the cleaners and bar staff to breakfast and reception. The pools, gym, and bar were nice, and it’s well placed for getting to the old towns or harbour. Some rooms are dated and have an authentic Greek feel, but more renovations are due to continue.

We’re on our last day at Porto Village and have been very happy here. The beach is about a 10-minute walk away, which is the only downside, but that was fine for us. The food was good, and we enjoyed the white wine, ouzo, and raki. You can order drinks until 10:30 PM, and the bartender on after dinner was very nice. The rooms were clean, with towels changed and the bathroom cleaned almost every day. Don’t worry about the low reviews, they don’t reflect our experience.

We really liked the hotel and its very nice staff. The two downsides were a two-hour wait for our room and really poor Wi-Fi, including in the rooms. I had to use mobile data for the whole trip. Apart from that, we were very pleased.
