We had a fabulous time at Achilleas pansion. The building has beautiful architecture, and the rooms are clean and modern, with very good value for money. It’s less than a five-minute walk from the port, so it’s a handy base for taking in Hydra’s gorgeous views.

It’s in the old town, up a bit from the ferry, among a maze of streets. I’d have struggled to find it without Google Maps. My stay included a bed only, with no breakfast.

The owners were so welcoming during my solo trip to Greece in June 2024. They suggested a great restaurant and even helped me contact another hotel I was due to stay at later in the trip. I loved having a smart TV with Netflix, YouTube, and other streaming options. The room was older, but clean, cared for, and full of traditional charm. There’s plenty of outdoor seating on the ground level and up on the rooftop, where the view of Hydra is breathtaking. The hotel is central, around a 5-7 minute walk from Hydra Harbor, yet sits on a quiet street, so I slept peacefully despite the nearby shops and stores. It can be a little hard to find on your own, as others have said. I asked a few local residents for directions, and they were very kind and clear. I definitely plan to come back.
